What does Horizon know about you?
What is kept, and why
- Trial email. Given once, at the end of onboarding, before the 14-day trial starts. Optionally, one answer to "how did you hear about Horizon". Kept so you can be told about updates — Horizon has no auto-update, so this is how you'd hear that a macOS release needs a new build — and so trial users can be counted. Stored in a Cloudflare D1 database.
- Purchase details. If you buy, Lemon Squeezy — the merchant of record — holds your name, email, and the order, exactly as any online shop does. Horizon's licence key carries your name, email and order number inside it, signed, so the app can show who it's licensed to. That key lives on your Mac. Horizon keeps no separate copy of who bought.
- On your Mac only. Settings, daily break counts, and the trial start date. These never leave the machine.
What is not collected
How often you take breaks, skip them, or snooze them. Which settings you use. What apps you work in, what's in your windows, or when you're at the keyboard. Your IP address is not logged by the app, and there is no crash reporter. If any of this changes it will be opt-in, off by default, and this page will say so first.
Who else sees it
- Cloudflare hosts this site, runs the code that records a trial email, and stores that list.
- Lemon Squeezy takes payment and holds order records. Their privacy policy covers that.
- Resend sends the one email carrying your licence key.
Nobody else. Your email is not sold, shared, or added to anyone else's list.
How long, and how to have it deleted
Trial emails are kept while Horizon exists. To have yours removed, email hello@horizonbreaks.app from that address and it will be deleted within a few days. The same goes for asking what is held about you. Purchase records are kept by Lemon Squeezy for as long as the law requires them to keep tax records.
Checking for yourself
Everything above is verifiable from outside. Run Little Snitch or the free LuLu against Horizon: you'll see one request when you register the trial, one when you check for updates, and nothing else, ever. That is a better basis for trust than this page.
Horizon is made by one person. Questions about any of this go to the same address.
